NJAOPS Mentor Network

There is a wealth of medical expertise and experience in our state, and our members are committed to investing in the next generation of osteopathic physicians.

The NJAOPS Mentor Network is designed to capitalize on our members' expertise by matching medical students, residents and newly practicing physicians with experienced physicians. If you're a physician seeking an opportunity to mentor, or if you are a student, resident or newly practicing physician in search of a mentor, then the NJAOPS Mentor Network is for you.

NJAOPS is working closely with UMDNJ–School of Osteopathic Medicine Student Government to develop a statewide program. If you would like to serve as a mentor, this means you will make yourself available for various questions or concerns students, residents, or newly practicing physicians may have. Such topics might be about rotation or residency choices, how to go about choosing a job out of residency, concerns about interviewing or contract negotiations, getting involved with local hospitals, county or state organizations, etc. If you would like to serve as a preceptor, this means you would work with the student’s school or residency program to provide an educational environment while adhering to the institution’s course objectives.

To become involved as a medical student, resident or newly practicing physician, contact a mentor from the list of participating physicians.

To become involved as a practicing physician mentor/preceptor, submit the NJAOPS Mentor Survey.
