AROC 2006 Exhibitor Frequently Asked Questions

The following information is intended to assist exhibitors in making plans for AROC 2006.
If your question is not answered below, contact your AROC Exhibit Coordinator.

Is it too late to register as an AROC 2006 exhibitor?
No. Space is still available but act quickly as we expect a sellout! Fewer than 20 spaces remain available. Click here to request an exhibitor information kit.

Can I use the AROC attendee room block to make hotel reservations?
Absolutely! Through March 3 while rooms remain you can make reservations at one of our two convention hotels: The Trump Taj Mahal or Resorts Atlantic City.

Resorts Atlantic City is offering a special AROC rate of $99 per night. You can make reservations by phone at 800-322-1399 using phone group code VNJAOP or online at the Resorts web site using online group code AROC06.

The Trump Taj Mahal is offering an AROC rate of $120 per night. You can make reservations by phone at 800-825-8888 using group code AROC06.

How do I know if my exhibitor registration has been confirmed?
You are a confirmed exhibitor at AROC 2006 when you have paid your booth expenses in full and have received your exhibitor planning kit. Exhibitors who fulfill these requirements should receive their planning kits first via e-mail as a .pdf the first week of February. A hardcopy, binder-style planning kit will follow via postal service. If you qualify as a confirmed exhibitor but have not received your planning kit by the first week of February, contact your AROC Exhibit Coordinator.

What's in my exhibitor's planning kit? Why is it so important?
Your planning kit includes an AROC program schedule, show details, your exhibit team's badge form (which provides entry into the hall), shipping information, and all forms needed to
secure drayage and electrical services.

Can I ship my display/materials to the Taj Mahal in advance of my arrival?
Regretfully, hotel policy prohibits exhibit materials from being shipped to the Taj Mahal.
Everything must be shipped to AEX Convention Services (formerly Atlantic Expo), the hotel's exclusive decorator/drayage company. Materials shipped to the Taj Mahal or addressed in care
of a room at the hotel will be forwarded to AEX with the expense passed on to the exhibitor.

How do I ship materials in advance?
Your exhibitor's planning kit contains a Shipping Options summary and a Materials Handling
order form which provide instructions for shipping displays and materials to the advance
warehouse or the Pennsylvania Avenue loading dock. The advance warehouse receives items shipped to arrive prior to March 22. The Pennsylvania Avenue loading dock receives items
shipped to arrive Tuesday, April 4 from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Note there are no loading dock hours on Wednesday, April 5 as all exhibitor setup should take place on April 4.

Exhibitors can arrange shipping services through a company of their choosing (UPS, FedEx, Yellow Truck, etc.) or can use AEX's shipping service. Displays and boxed materials should be clearly marked AROC 2006 with your booth number included. All shipped displays and materials will be brought into the exhibit hall by union laborers. Your display and materials will be waiting in your booth space upon your arrival.

Can I walk into the hall with my display?
Yes. You are welcome to bring your table-top display with you and forego shipping and handling services. However, keep in mind that the Taj Mahal does not permit exhibitors to use valet or bellmen's services for their exhibit materials. Also keep in mind that it is quite a distance from the parking garage to the exhibit hall, so dollies and/or luggage carries are recommended. Note that your AROC Exhibit Coodinator does not have access to such carriers on move-in day. Should you require assistance unloading your vehicle, drive to the hotel's Pennsylvania Avenue loading dock. Follow signs for AEX Freight Drop-off. Fees apply based on weight.

Where do I park when I arrive at the Taj Mahal?
For convenience, exhibitors can park in the Taj Mahal parking garage. Level 3 (sections H, I, J,
and K) offers access to the conference level of the hotel. Entry to the garage is $4 for the duration of your stay.

After I park, where do I go?
If you are carrying-in materials, you can go directly to the Grand Ballroom on the conference level
of the Taj Mahal (turn right at the large, gray horse). If you have no materials, you can check into your room at the first-floor hotel reservations desk at the Taj or Resorts hotels and then proceed to the Grand Ballroom.

When you enter the exhibit hall, check in at the Exhibitor Check-in Booth inside the entrance doors. There you will receive your exhibitor badge, onsite kit, and any other assistance you may need. Note that each exhibit team member must check in individually.

When does the exhibit hall officially open?
The ribbon-cutting for the hall opening is 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 30. All exhibitors
should have their booth displays set up by Tuesday evening. Touch-ups only should occur on Wednesday morning and your booth area should be clutter-free by 8:30 a.m.

What if I set up my booth and find I've forgotten something?
AEX will be stationed next to the AROC Exhibitor Check-in Booth. Drayage,
electrical, and return shipping needs can be accommodated by Atlantic Expo onsite.

Is Internet service available in the exhibit hall?
Yes. Wireless internet service is available. Arrangements can be made through the Taj Mahal
via the AROC Exhibit Coordinator and a form in your exhibitor planning kit.

Can I make and receive cellular calls in the exhibit hall?
Cellular service in the hall tends to be limited based on location and service provider. It is better at the front of the hall and best in The Resorts' enclosed skywalk to the left of the Grand Ballroom.

Does AROC 2006 provide exhibit hall security?
Yes. From Tuesday, April 4 at 2:00 p.m. to Thursday, April 6 at 5:00 p.m. the hall will be
secured 24-hours-a-day. Entrance will be limited to authorized personnel only (exhibitors, registered attendees and hotel personnel). Admittance will be granted only to those with AROC badges. However, the Taj Mahal is a public facility. Therefore exhibitors are advised to remove personal or business valuables when not present at their booths.

Can I serve food and beverages at my booth?
Yes, arrangements can be made through the Taj Mahal via the AROC Exhibit Coordinator.

Can I give away items at my booth?
Giveaways are a recognized traffic-builder in exhibit halls. We would be pleased to highlight in the onsite print materials any giveaways or special activities you have planned at your booth. To notify
us of your plans, complete the bottom portion of the AROC Sponsorship Opportunities form found in your exhibitor planning kit. Fax the form to 732-940-8899.

Can I sell or take orders at AROC 2006?
Yes. We do not prohibit selling or taking orders. It is always the exhibitor's responsiblity to comply with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
