The 2005 Atlantic Regional Osteopathic Convention (AROC) returned to the magnificent Trump
Taj Mahal in Atlantic City, New Jersey, with a flourish March 29–April 2. Attendance rose approximately 35% over 2004 with registrants enjoying personal and professional enrichment, continuing medical education, a dynamic exhibit hall, and quality time with old friends and new. CME session blocks included Bio-terrorism, Cancer, Orthopedics & Sports Medicine, OMM, Psychiatry, Infectious Disease, Metabolic Syndrome, and the mandatory seven hours for Florida relicensure as well as special student sessions.

NJAOPS' 104th Anniversary Reception & Banquet was held Friday, April 1 in the beautiful Tiara Ballroom onsite. In addition to dinner, dancing, and live entertainment, the evening included an inaugural address by newly appointed NJAOPS President Katheryn Lambert, D.O., who serves as the first female president of the association in its 104-year history. NJAOPS also honored Albert A. Talone, D.O., as its 2005 Physician of the Year, recognizing him as a gifted physician and an advocate for osteopathic medicine in Trenton.

Particularly well attended was the new all-day Saturday workshop series entitled "The Business of Medicine" featuring the latest in business and technology for physicians' practices. Sessions of interest included Total Lawsuit and Asset Protection, Managed Care Contracts, Reducing Medical Rist, Malpractice Insurance, and Electronic Medical Records.

The AROC exhibit hall was located in the Taj Mahal's spacious Grand Ballroom and featured exhibitors from around the country. Click here for a comprehensive listing of exhibitors who were present in the hall. Click here for a listing of exhibitors who have already registered to be present
