Formulate Best Practices Health Policies
Actively working with the state legislature and administration, NJAOPS promotes quality health care for New Jersey. NJAOPS carefully monitors state and federal legislative activities that affect how you practice medicine. We aggressively respond on your behalf, bringing the critical concerns of osteopathic physicians before legislative and regulatory leaders. We fight for your best interest on issues of patient safety, quality of care, scope of practice, reimbursement and medical liability. We are proactively involved in healthcare reform initiatives on the state and federal levels, supporting—and often challenging—legislators in the decisions that matter most. We listen to your issues. We voice your concerns. We fight for your rights. And we train you to be a force for positive change.
To learn more about how you can be personally involved, visit our new Legislative Alert Center. There you can review summaries of key bills and speak out on important issues. Also, keep in mind that your support of the Jersey Osteopathic Political Action Committee (JOPAC) is an important investment in the future of osteopathic medicine in our state. You can find more information on JOPAC and how you can help support our legislative efforts by clicking on the Advocacy/JOPAC tab above.
Produce Quality Education and Training
The New Jersey Association of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons serves to ensure that the continuing medical education activities meet or exceed requirements established by the American Osteopathic Association's Counsil on CME. NJAOPS is accredited by the AOA to sponsor continuing medical education (CME) for osteopathic physicians. We provide DO's with multiple solutions and choices for CME opportunities. These include but are not limited to conventions (AROC), live conferences (CME Dinners), web based CME, live webinars, recorded webinars, etc.
NJAOPS continues to develop new and innovative ways to provide CME opportunities for family and specialists throughout New Jersey and neighboring states. We strive to address emerging health care concerns in a timely fashion. In doing so we hope to be a useful and Go-To resource in meeting your professional and patient care needs.
Striving for Excellence
NJAOPS works closely with the ROWAN State University School of Osteopathic Medicine (RowanSOM). Since its inception in 1969, the New Jersey Osteopathic Education Foundation Scholarship Program has awarded scholarships totaling over $800,000.
